The International Academy for Investigative Psychology

A Professional Academy for Researchers and Practitioners seeking to apply Social Science to the Investigation and Legal Processes

The IA-IP is an international body of multidisciplinary academics, police/ law enforcement and legal practitioners dedicated to research excellence and the professionalisation of practice in the application of social scientific principle and knowledge to:

  • Criminal and Civil Investigations (e.g. ‘Offender Profiling’, Police Investigative Decision Making, Geographical Profiling, Suspect and Witness Interviewing)
  • Psychological Evaluation of Legal Evidence (Prosecution or Defence Case) (e.g. Forensic Psycholinguistics, Defendant Profiling, Eyewitness Evidence, False Rape Allegations; Juries)
  • Prediction and Analysis of Crime (e.g. Prediction of Violence & Threat, Extortion, Kidnapping, Stalking)
  • Commercial Investigation and Litigation (e.g. Fraud & the Detection of Deception)
