Brett Pakenham

I have been a member of the New Zealand Police since 1988. I am a qualified Detective and hold the rank of Detective Sergeant. From 2001 to 2006 I worked as a senior investigator at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) based in The Hague. In 2007 I was appointed the Officer in Charge of the NZ Police Criminal Profiling Unit. I am also a qualified ViCLAS specialist. I have a Diploma in Police Studies and am in my last semester of a Psychology Degree at Massey University. My day to day work involves preparing profiles of unidentified offenders, crime analysis reports, validity assessments, crime linkage and propensity reports.
